Home-Start Erewash
About
Home-Start Erewash offers support to local parents facing a difficult time. Families in Erewash struggling with post-natal illness, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other issues could receive bespoke support, friendship and guidance from a volunteer who will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them in the ways they need. Parents may choose to come along to one of our weekly Connection Cafes in Ilkeston or Long Eaton and meet other families. Parents with babies and young children might like to attend our Nest group; a supportive six-week programme designed to promote Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) for parents and carers with children aged 0–2 years. In addition, Home-Start Erewash support children and their families to get ready for school. Through evidence-backed, fun activity-focused group sessions, we help children to develop the vital skills they need to successfully transition into formal education. From games to practice key skills like sitting and listening, to really practical stuff like how to hold a pencil or use a pair of scissors - Sunflowers is making a big difference to local families. This is a 6-week program which takes place at least 4 times a year .
