Elephant Rooms is a Health and Wellbeing centre in Draycott Derbyshire. We put community at the heart of everything we do. Offering tai chi, yoga and pilates, wellbeing groups and courses to improve mental and physical health.
Fibro Active is a positive and inclusive group providing pain management and falls prevention support through three programmes. 1. The Fibro Active Support Group and 2. Fibro Therapy Course are for people with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Long Covid , as well as their carers. 3. Small Steps to Health is open to everyone and offers Tai Chi, Qigong and Otago.
Petersham Youth Project is a free community youth provision delivered in partnership by Support Through Sport CIO and Hope Long Eaton CIC, with support from The Friendships Hub and funding from the Erewash Borough Council Community Safety Partnership Team. The project provides a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for young people aged 11 to 17 years to socialise, develop positive relationships, and access informal support and guidance. Sessions take place every Thursday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The first hour is typically spent outdoors (weather permitting), taking part in a range of sports and physical activities, including football, rounders, basketball, boxing pad work, kick cricket, and other team games. The second hour takes place indoors and focuses on social activities such as board games, card games, group discussions, and opportunities to relax and spend time with peers in a safe environment. Experienced youth workers and community sports coaches are on hand throughout each session to provide mentoring, support, and advice where needed, helping young people to build confidence, resilience, improve wellbeing, and develop positive connections within their community. Derby and Derbyshire Talking Therapies is a free, confidential NHS service offering support for common mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and stress. If you’re aged 16 or over and registered with a local GP, you can access support directly—no need for a referral from your doctor.We provide a safe and compassionate space where you can talk through your experiences with a trained therapist. Talking therapies can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, build resilience, and develop strategies to cope more effectively.
We offer a variety of classes to suit all levels incorporating popular Tai Chi and Qigong styles. These include Yang and Sun-style Tai Chi and British Health Qigong Association (BHQA) routines. Our instructors are fully qualifies and experienced, holding qualifications from reputable organisations including the Tai Chi for Health Institute, Deyin Taijiquan Institute (GB) and the British Health Qigong Assosiation. The Will Garvey Trust Foundation aims to create talking communities that are suicide safe, with a particular focus on young people. We deliver workshops and talks, and attend community events to encourage conversations which are often the first step to recovery.
