Erewash Voluntary Action (EVA) is a local charity dedicated to supporting and strengthening voluntary and community groups across Erewash. We help organisations develop their activities, build capacity, and grow with confidence. Working in partnership with local authorities, health services, and education providers, EVA plays an active role in improving services and developing new initiatives that benefit the local community. We offer a wide range of training opportunities to help groups gain new skills and become more effective in their work.EVA also promotes the voice of the voluntary and community sector at county and regional levels. We are regularly consulted by national, regional, and local government bodies on issues and policies that affect the Erewash community.Through our Volunteer Centre , we help people find rewarding ways to get involved. We promote volunteering, advertise opportunities, and recruit and train volunteers for both local organisations and our own projects.Community groups and organisations are welcome to join EVA as members — contact us to find out how you can get involved.

Petersham Youth Project is a free community youth provision delivered in partnership by Support Through Sport CIO and Hope Long Eaton CIC, with support from The Friendships Hub and funding from the Erewash Borough Council Community Safety Partnership Team. The project provides a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for young people aged 11 to 17 years to socialise, develop positive relationships, and access informal support and guidance. Sessions take place every Thursday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The first hour is typically spent outdoors (weather permitting), taking part in a range of sports and physical activities, including football, rounders, basketball, boxing pad work, kick cricket, and other team games. The second hour takes place indoors and focuses on social activities such as board games, card games, group discussions, and opportunities to relax and spend time with peers in a safe environment. Experienced youth workers and community sports coaches are on hand throughout each session to provide mentoring, support, and advice where needed, helping young people to build confidence, resilience, improve wellbeing, and develop positive connections within their community. Free food, snacks, and drinks are provided at every session. When: Thursdays, 5:30pm to 7:30pm Who: Young people aged 11 to 17 years Cost: Free of charge
